Bridesmaid Jewelry: Amethyst and Pearls for the Bridal Party
June Wedding: Part 3
Purple was the color of the day, from hair to shoe. Even the guests wore purple. The bridesmaids’ amethyst and pearl necklaces matched their purple v-neck dresses.
The June wedding of my niece has been the subject of several recent blog posts. I designed and made all of the wedding party jewelry. A personalized silver bracelet completed the bridesmaid jewelry sets.
The lacy necklace is constructed using the finest gauge silver wire. I weave a combination of beads in various colors, sizes and shapes combined to match any attire. This style is a great alternative to a strand of pearls.
I selected amethyst stones which matched the purple dresses, two sizes of faux pearls, small cultured pearls, moonstone chips, and glass beads. The result was a floating collar, light as air.
A nice bonus is that the necklaces can easily be worn with casual fashion, after the wedding. The construction allows this necklace to be shaped to fit the neck and shoulders, just like a tailored jacket. What’s more, it was changed into a v shaped necklace to echo the dress’ classic neckline.
