Role Reversal: Carole Shelton and Judy Vienneau

  • St. Pete ArtWorks 2412 Central Avenue St. Petersburg, FL 33712 United States (map)

Judy Vienneau and Carole Shelton both work with metal in three dimensional art: Judy as a wire sculptor/mixed media artist, and Carole as a jewelry artist. They have reversed their focus for this show with Carole presenting 3- dimensional Metal “Quilts” and Judy with “Wearable Art”. “We are both stepping out of comfort zones,” says Shelton. “I, for one, have a new respect for sculptors working in large formats.” Judy echoes that she has a difficult time working small. She was inspired by Shelton’s delicate work. Both artists have included versions of their signature styles, as well as new pieces using their skills in metal, wire, and embellishments. See the exhibition October 13 - November 15 at St. Pete ArtWorks or online. The Closing Reception  will be held November 14 from 5 to 8 pm during Art Walk. Guitarists Ed Fraley and Nick Cusumano will play their music on the sidewalk while you browse the artwork.
