Opening Reception: Sculptor Vincent Ricci presents "Across Time"

  • St. Pete ArtWorks 2412 Central Avenue St. Petersburg United States (map)

Vincent Ricci, Sculptor, teacher and artist presents his solo show, “Across Time”. The exhibition explores the transition between time and space as he engages the viewer in three-dimensional story telling. “I have always been interested in the mystery of human existence: our relationship to time, space, and to each other. Through my sculpture I express this using the serene isolated figure or isolated animated groups and working with cycle themes. At times I use lifelike fragments of the body, leaving it for the viewer to fill in the empty spaces for themselves.”

Vincent Ricci attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris and graduated from the Accademia di Belli Arti, Rome, where he worked with Pericles Fazzini, Giacomo Manzi and Emilio Greco. In the USA, Vincent had the opportunity to work with Malvina Hoffman, Michael Lantz, and Donald DeLue. He taught at Boston University, New England College of Art, Montserrat, Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. Vincent was director and instructor at the Center for the Arts, Villa Maria, Greppocorno, Italy where he instructed in modeling, mold making, casting and life drawing.
